FinArk ("the app", "we") is a personal finance tracking application. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using FinArk you agree to this policy.
Data we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. This is used only to create and identify your FinArk account.
- Financial data you enter. Transactions, accounts, budgets, categories, fixed expenses, loans, assets, and income details you add in the app are stored on our servers so they can be synced to your device.
- Bank transaction notifications (optional). If you grant the notification access permission, the app reads bank transaction alert notifications on your device to automatically create transaction entries. Only recognised transaction alerts are processed; the resulting transaction records are stored with your account like manually entered data. You can revoke this permission at any time in Android settings.
- Purchase and subscription data. If you buy FinArk Premium, we store the Google Play product you bought, the purchase token Google issues, the subscription's expiry date and its current state (for example active, cancelled, or in a grace period). We keep this to know whether your Premium access is valid — it is the only way to confirm a purchase, since we verify every token directly with Google rather than trusting the app. See Payments below for what we never see.
- Advertising data. The app shows banner ads served by Google AdMob to users on the free tier. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and related data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Ads are not shown while a Premium subscription is active.
Payments
All Premium purchases are processed by Google Play, not by us. Your card, UPI, or other payment details are entered in Google's purchase sheet and are never sent to, seen by, or stored on our servers. We receive only the purchase token and subscription status described above. Google's handling of your payment data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
What we do NOT collect
How your data is used
Your data is used solely to provide the app's features: syncing your financial records across sessions, showing dashboards and summaries, and sending you optional local reminders. We do not use your financial data for advertising or share it with third parties, except as required by law.
Security
All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS) encryption. Access tokens are stored in your device's secure storage. Data is held on servers located in the European Union (France).
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time — see Delete my account. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days. Your purchase records are deleted along with your account; note that deleting your FinArk account does not by itself cancel an active Google Play subscription, which you cancel in the Play Store.
Children
FinArk is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update this page and the effective date above.
